We are a Resource Centre
Bay Midwifery is a resource centre for any member of the public to obtain information on pregnancy, birth, early infancy and also we can assist you to link in with other community services pertaining to your needs in this area. We are open between 9:00am – 3:00pm Monday to Thursday and 9:00am - 12:00pm Friday for any inquiries. Check with your midwife regarding clinic times outside these hours.
Find Registered Midwives
Most of the midwives run twice weekly clinics from the centre and some hold satellite clinic in areas such as Mount Maunganui and Te Puke. We have pregnancy tests available at reception Free of Charge and can assist you in finding a midwife of your choosing from the centre. As with most midwives, we provide antenatal, birth and postnatal care. When you ring looking for a midwife we will advise you on who is available to care for you around your delivery month. From this you can choose and make a booking appointment with a midwife to begin your care.
We provide full labour delivery and antenatal care
During your antenatal period we ask that you visit us at our clinic. We see you for an average of 10-12 antenatal appointments, depending on which stage of pregnancy you are at your booking visit. We provide full labour and delivery care at Tauranga Hospital and some midwives provide care at Bethlehem Birthing Centre. During your postnatal period we visit you at home, unless you prefer to come to our clinic. We see you and your baby a minimum of 7 times during this period and usually refer you on to your well child provider between 4-6 weeks.
Please feel free to call into our centre during the week and we can assist you and your family on this special journey of pregnancy.
